Many years ago, a loved one was going through chemo. Thankfully, she kicked cancer in the ass and now we joke “scoreboard.”
One day, I was looking at all her prescription bottles and lined them up on the kitchen counter. I believe there were seven of them. I then took my (dime) baggy of weed and placed it next to the bottles. Mind you, this was back when my stash was a potpourri of dried shake, stems and seeds. But that’s another story.
I looked at the bottles and just for shits and giggles, pointed at each bottle, moving left to right and said, “Let me get this straight. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good.” Then reaching to my beloved green stuff, “Bad?” My audience consisted of a fellow stoner, my loved one and my dogs.
My arid ganja was demonized, and yet all those pills, made mostly from chemicals, were okay for her? Not to mention the red poison they were shooting into her veins every three weeks, blindly hoping it was killing the bad cells all while blowing away millions of good ones.
Let’s see, who stands to benefit if those pills keep selling and the green stuff is illegal? Merck, Pfizer, Glaxo, Johnson & Johnson etc. But you know who also benefits? Anyone who has those companies’ stock in their investment portfolios. If you really are a cannabis advocate, stop tacitly supporting the opposition.
