Sports Authority, the current name sponsor of Denver’s Mile High Stadium and home of the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, has filed for bankruptcy leaving the naming rights of the stadium available for purchase. Sports Authority entered into a 25-year, $150 million agreement in 2011. Just 5 years later, the naming rights are up for grabs. Native Roots previously expressed interest and now O.penVAPE has thrown their hat in the ring. Naming rights are estimated to cost more than $6 million annually for a minimum of five years. Has the cannabis industry produced brands that have become mainstream enough that the NFL will support them and the TV airways promote them in the fall? Stay tuned.
